What to include

Double opt-in: we email a confirmation link before any digest. No purchased lists. Unsubscribe from every message. Covered in the privacy policy. Outbound mail is not configured on this environment yet, addresses are stored as pending until an operator-approved SMTP provider is set (BB-CA-5).

What you get

Each digest is generated from the live PlainCrime database: national rates plus the five largest year-over-year violent-rate drops and rises among cities with at least 25,000 residents and sufficient reporting. Read the same content without email on the public digest page, or follow RSS.

Probe counters (local store): 0 confirmed · 3 pending · 0 unsubscribed. Success thresholds for fleet rollout: ≥5 confirmed subscribers per 1,000 sessions after 30 days AND a measurable return-visit delta among subscribers.

Every figure on PlainCrime is rendered directly from FBI Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) source data, no number is typed in by an editor. Digest figures are computed from the FBI UCR extract in the PlainCrime database; the subscriber list is stored separately from the crime dataset.
